The strengths: - The program is mainly focused on learning useful German from the beginning, familiarising the user with common interactions they might have early on.
- The podcasts are entertaining and stop the learning process from becoming boring.
- Easily recommendable, and from what I have heard from reviews of the product, Rocket Languages seem to care about improvements.

The weaknesses: I might be wrong on this, but I feel that a basic explanation of conjugations comes too late, and at first you are forced to entirely learn new words and not to figure out that a lot of different words are just conjugations of one word. For me, I was already familiar with German so this wasn't a problem. I would then recommend to anyone who is using this product and is completely new to German, to learn about basic sentence structure and conjugations from other sources to aid this course.

Honestly, it’s alright through the first few days. But not much more than that.

1. I can’t use it the “write it” function on my computer because the Korean keyboard doesn’t show up. They never got back to me on that, so I have to use my phone. It’s a bit annoying, and as I haven’t received any answer, I’m not sure what my feedback was for.

2. They teach formal speaking, which isn’t all that helpful when most Koreans use words that in in 요, not 입니다. I want to learn how to speak in a way people will be used to, and it’s a bit annoying to always be super polite.

3. I get quizzes on things that wil never come up in a conversation. Someone who tells me they were in the Korean military and then emigrated to America is not going to come up very often at all. I know I’m new, and this will probably change, but it’s not practical.

I bought this program hoping to improve my Korean skills, because I live in Korea. I’ll keep trying, but it’s only just alright at the moment.

So far I am very happy with the Rocket Spanish. It is exactly what I was looking for. It has the listening portion that I can use on my way to work or while on a long walk. It also has the writing portion and the flash cards. I feel like having both really helps my understanding.

Very nice interface with many opportunities to record yourself and play back to compare with the native speaker. I've enjoyed learning from the conversations, and also being able to practice participating in the conversations (playing the role of one person, then the other). The app for iPhone and iPad works well overall but has a few glitches with the voice recording function -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The web browser interface for Google Chrome works perfectly. I am looking forward to continuing on in my lessons as I've only started module 2.

I like how the course gives you instant ability to say full sentences, and doesn't just focus on vocabulary or grammar separately. Everything is integrated. The phrases are also very relevant and useful. I also enjoy the mix of culture and language that is taught.
There are some aspects of the course that I don't find as useful, such as the 'Write It' and 'Flashcard' components, only because I don't feel they are benefiting me and I feel they are sort of tedious and a chore. I like the quizzes and the ability to practice saying the phrases in the 'Know It' section.

I've only just started my course and am on module 1. However I am really enjoying it and find the course much better than a short course I did recently. I find it a much better course for teaching modern conversational German. As the previous one was more academic. I would prefer if the mobile app was tweaked so that the screen remained always on and not slept while being used in the car. That aside I can highly recommend the course however.

I'm almost finished with Module two in french and so far I really like it. It's a good mix of audio lessons where you get a feel for how to use the language and the language lessons which teacher more grammar etc. I already feel more confident in my french and I am recognising more and more words out on the street and in conversations around me.

I really like this platform . The only thing is missing is more tests after each subject and lessons. There is a huge gap in quiz. You guys should offer more quiz. other than that Im happy for now.

thanks

There's a myriad of good resources for language learning, and the audio helps a lot with pronunciation. Rocket Languages has great tools for language learning, without a doubt. The cultural immersion components are a fun way to learn about culture as well, because that is vital to learning a language as well.

So far I'm enjoying the course. My only complaint is that I'm not able to test myself on what I'm learning. That is where I find Duolingo superior (and also free, I might add). I find that Rocket is definitely useful but that on its own, it wouldn't be enough. A combination of Rocket, Duolingo and Yabla are what I need and have given me the best results so far.

Response from Rocket Languages

There are Rocket Reinforcement activities at the end of each lesson, Benchmark tests, and Module tests fr when you have completed a group of lessons, that all test you on the concepts and vocab used within the lessons :)
